Privacy Policy

Maon by KAC ("Maon," "we," "us") is a home maintenance app run by Kristy Amar Consulting LLC, a Florida limited liability company. This policy explains what information Maon collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers getmaon.com, the Maon app, and the vendor and tenant pages that Maon users share.

The short version: we collect what's needed to run your repairs, we don't sell your information, we don't show ads, and you can ask us to delete your account at any time.

Who this covers

Account holders: homeowners, landlords and property managers who sign up for Maon.
Vendors: repair businesses who receive a work order from a Maon user and may use the no-login job page.
Tenants: renters whose landlord uses Maon, who may use a no-login request page their landlord shares.
Waitlist sign-ups: people who ask to hear when Maon opens.

Information we collect

From account holders

Your email address and password (passwords are stored in encrypted, hashed form by our sign-in provider; we can't see them).
Settings you enter, such as your name, reply-to email, phone number, time zone, email alert choices and app colors.
Property details, such as addresses, where the breaker panel and water shutoff are, and approval limits.
Tenant contact details you choose to add (name, phone, email), so Maon can fill in messages and alerts for you.
Vendor contact details you add, and your notes about them.
Repair requests and everything attached to them: descriptions, troubleshooting steps, photos, messages, visit times, invoices, costs and due dates.
Billing records for paid plans. Payments are handled by Stripe. Maon never sees or stores your full card or bank account numbers. We keep your plan, billing status and the reference numbers Stripe gives us.
Vendors you choose to share in the community directory, plus recommendations and reports you make there.

From vendors using a job page

What you enter on the page: confirmation, visit time and notes, messages, photos, invoice details and files, and any ideas you send us. Your business name and contact details come from the Maon user who sent the work order.

From tenants using a request page

What you enter on the page: the problem, details, troubleshooting steps you checked, photos, whether a technician may enter, and the best time to reach you. This goes to your landlord's Maon account. Your name and contact details come from your landlord.

From waitlist sign-ups

Your email address, and the state and role you choose.

Automatically

Basic technical information needed to keep the service running and secure, such as IP address, browser type and error logs.
Privacy-friendly visit statistics from Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without tracking you across other sites.
Small settings saved in your browser (for example your sign-in session, app colors and light/dark choice). We don't use advertising cookies.

How we use information

To run Maon: store your properties and requests, build tenant messages and work orders, and show vendors and tenants their pages.
To send emails you ask for or turn on: work orders to your vendors, alerts when a vendor or tenant updates a request, reminders and daily summaries. You can turn alerts off in Settings.
To process payments and manage your plan.
To answer your questions, fix problems, prevent abuse and keep the service secure.
To tell waitlist sign-ups when Maon opens, and to send account holders important notices about their account or these policies.

Maon does not contact tenants on its own. Messages to tenants are ones you copy and send yourself. Maon does not pay bills for you.

How information is shared

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only:

As you direct. When you send a work order, the vendor sees the details you include, such as the address, tenant contact and photos. When a vendor or tenant updates a request, you see it.
In the community directory. Vendor businesses you choose to share (business name, trade, service area and contact details) are visible to other Maon users. Don't share personal information there.
With service providers who run parts of Maon for us under their own privacy and security terms: Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in), Cloudflare (website hosting and visit statistics), Resend (sending email) and Stripe (payments). They may only use the information to provide their service.
For legal reasons, if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or Maon.
If the business changes hands, as part of a merger or sale, with notice to you.

Your responsibilities for others' information

If you add information about tenants or vendors, please only add what you need to handle repairs, and follow the laws that apply to you as a landlord or property manager.

How long we keep information

We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete properties, vendors and requests in the app at any time. If you close your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except records we must keep for legal, tax or billing reasons (for example, payment records kept by Stripe) and backups, which expire on their normal schedule. Vendor and tenant page activity belongs to the account holder's records and is deleted with them. Waitlist emails are kept until Maon opens and you're notified, or until you ask us to remove yours.

Your choices and rights

See, correct or delete your information in the app, or ask us to do it.
Ask for a copy of your information, or for your account to be closed.
Turn off email alerts, reminders and summaries in Settings.
Remove yourself from the waitlist at any time.

If you're a vendor or tenant and want information about you changed or removed, contact the Maon user you work with, or contact us and we'll help.

Security

Information is sent over encrypted connections and stored with access controls, so each account can only reach its own data. Vendor and tenant pages use long, private links; anyone who has the link can open the page, so share links only with the right person. Owners can replace a tenant link at any time. No system is perfectly secure, and we'll tell you promptly if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.

Children

Maon is for adults. It isn't meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children.

Where Maon operates

Maon is offered in the United States, starting with Florida and Montana. Information is stored and processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

If we make important changes, we'll update the date above and let account holders know by email or in the app before the changes take effect.
